Solar Neighbourhoods Events

In the 'hood

A Solar AffairThe Solar Neighbourhoods crew will be out and about in Ward 30 all through the summer.  You can catch up with us every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Withrow Park Farmer’s Market (northeast corner of the park next to the playground).  If you have questions about solar water heating technology, incentive programs or whether your home would be good for solar, come out and see us.  We’ll also be at a number of community events, including:

  • Leslieville Tree Festival, Saturday, June 20th, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., Leslie Grove Park - Queen E. and Jones

  • Riverdale Environment Day, Wednesday, July 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Riverdale Park (Broadview, south of Danforth).  A number of Solar Neighbourhoods eligible contractors will be displaying their systems at this event, so this is a great chance to kick the tires on different packages.

And remember, you can call us anytime at 416-392-6795 or email solar@toronto.ca with questions or comments.

Finance your solar system and save

The Solar Neighbourhoods finance offer is one sweet deal.  We will give you an up to 10 year loan for up to $10,000 with no interest and no fees and no hidden catches.  It’s just a straight-up great deal that could allow you to install a solar water heater for just $25-$50 a month.  When you subtract the savings on your gas bill that will result from using the free energy of the sun, you could actually end up being out of pocket just $6 to $27 per month (and remember: savings will increase if gas and electricity prices rise).  This special Solar Neighbourhoods loan makes solar hot water very affordable, and you still get a $500 up front discount on your system cost.  We’ve crunched the numbers for a few different loan scenarios – have a look at www.solarneighbourhoods.ca/loan.php
